Create Something

I feel as if my whole day every day is devoted to creating something. I create blog posts, or graphics, or websites, or even little things like Facebook or twitter posts. I work with clients to create marketing plans or in my own business to create displays or creative ways to approach sales. However even in the midst of all this creating, I sometimes feel the need to create something more artistic (perhaps that is why I am uber-addicted to Drawsomething). I take great pride in my drawings and I enjoy the minute details of my drawings. When I first began to play I was oft irritated when my opponent would guess my drawing before it was complete. However, I came to realize that I The rest of the story

Be kind to one another…forgiving each other…do do doodlie do

Do you ever sit in Church on Sunday and think…’WOW! Has the preacher been peaking in my windows? or is he mind-melding my thoughts?’ Yesterday was one of those days for me. If you read my blog often, you’ll know that I rarely speak on religion but this blog is burning in me. So, bear with me. The sermon started with a cute ditty I learned in Church camp at Christian Acres a life-time ago. It’s the words to Ephesians 4:32 set to a cute tune that includes do do doodlie do (maybe you remember it too). But yesterday the words to the scripture really resonated with me: Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven The rest of the story

My Dog ate a Sock and All I got was a Vet Bill

The first time Marshall ‘ate something’ and it turned out to be a sock, we decided Diane at DogTrain might be right and he needed to be crated except when we were ‘eyes on The rest of the story

You are NOT the Energizer Bunny

I read a blog post a few days ago that was extolling the virtues of taking time off! The concept is not news to me, just as I am sure it’s not news to you. While I believe it is important to carve out time to take several days off in a row because of the therapeutic value of truly being away; it is also beneficial to take a few hours off. If your life is starting to feel like a treadmill, it’s time to hit the stop button. When you’re in the thick of things, it’s hard to get much perspective. It is an idea I want to embrace, but in reality have a hard time accomplishing! In my case, because I work on Saturday, I really The rest of the story

What do Your Social Media Posting Say about You?

2012/05/07 Gayle 0

Recently, someone said to me ‘you must live the happiest life ever’ I was shocked and said, ‘Why, do you think so?’ to which she replied ‘Well, your Facebook is full of pictures of reading, or going places and doing things and unless what you’re posting isn’t true – you’re living a happy life.’ I stammered a bit and assured my friend that I was not posting things that did not happen and that yes, it was all true. I even confirmed that I live a pretty happy life. But that conversation has made me think. Several days later I related the above story to my friend Dawn Bugni. Dawn is a Master Resume Writer (one of only a handful in the world) and she The rest of the story
