Happy First day of Spring – Go Pursue Happiness

2012/03/20 Gayle 1

Happiness is an interesting concept. It is something we all desire and yet it is a state of mind that few can completely articulate. What is happiness? I learned as a child that I was entitled to the right to pursue happiness. Like many American children, I believed that meant I was entitled to happiness. I could ramble on and on about the ills of our societal belief that we are entitled to be happy, but I won’t, perhaps I’ll rant about that later. What I am coming to accept is that happiness comes in the pursuit. We must actively seek happiness. Happiness doesn’t just come and find you. For the past several months I have been guilty of demanding to be happy. And, to The rest of the story

Let’s encourage each other!

I am pretty sure any glimmer of light I may see in the tunnel is just an on coming train!

Who Knows only his own Generation remains always a child

No doubt you have heard the saying, ‘you can’t know where you are going unless you know where you have been’. I do believe that statement is true. And I definitely like to ease into my day. It is one of the reasons why working for myself as opposed to ‘the man’ works best for me. On a surprising note, I have discovered that I prefer to write in the morning. My thoughts seem clearer and I enjoy the solitude of the project. This morning while grousing about the overabundance of conversation before I had finished my morning ritual and made it The rest of the story

It’s Life not a Math Problem (or is it)

2012/03/02 Gayle 0

A few weeks ago I sat in my office and listened to Jenn tutoring math. The subject was either calculus or algebra, to be honest I wasn’t really paying attention, I was doing my own work. However, I suddenly hear Jenn ask, what do these triangles have in common. Before I could stop myself I shouted, ‘they’re both triangles’ and everyone laughed. Since that day I have considered how often I use math on a daily basis. As the kid who was once told by a teacher I was ‘too stupid’ to do math, I avoid the topic as much as possible. (Just for the record, thank to the encouragement of the next year’s teacher THIS ‘too stupid’ kid took and passed several advanced math The rest of the story
