No Time Left For You

2012/02/17 Gayle 0

Lately I have been spending a lot of time spinning my wheels about time. Specifically I have been complaining about other people not valuing my time! My days have been filled with clients who do not send timely information then expect that I will be available to rush the work for them. Of friends who call in the middle of the day to ‘just chat’ about nothing. And then a family member who called for computer help and disrupted my ‘downtime’ only to abruptly say ‘let me call you back’ when another call came in. Unfortunately, I then waste more of my time fuming because ‘They don’t value my time’. This morning I have had an epiphany! Although I can not control how they see The rest of the story

VD it’s Not Just for Lovers

Today is Valentine’s Day. It is a day when we all express love to the one we love. Perhaps you also express that love to those around you. Last night I watched as Jenn fashioned little Valentines Day surprises for her choir. She was having so much fun. It lead to a discussion of our expressions of love to those around us.   I was a stoic kid. Beyond grade school when everyone gave every one a valentine, I’m relatively sure it was a holiday that held no allure for me. Jenn says she was that kid pouring over the valentines she would give and trying to match them to the recipient. I just purchased a book by Gary Chapman called G  The 5 Love Languages: The Secret The rest of the story

How Do You Run?

Yesterday morning started as most Sunday’s for me….leisurely. I drank my coffee, played on the computer, and read a book. I enjoyed the preparation and consumption of what we call ‘big breakfast’ (biscuits, gravy, eggs, bacon, etc). Then, unusually, I returned to my chair and my book. It was almost time for Church before I began to get ready for Church and needless to say we arrived late. My frame of mind upon arrival was harried and un-centered. But I did my best to settle. Then the scripture was read – 1 Corinthians 9: 24 – 26 which ends with ‘That is the way I run, with a clear goal in mind’. How many things do we do without a clear goal in mind? Sharing is what it is ALL about

Part of the way I feed, clothe and have the ability to live indoors, is the use of social media. In case you are reading this and want to ask the question my mother asked last week ‘SOCIAL MEDIA, what’s that?’ The answer is social media is any avenue that acts socially using online technology. Because keeping up with the trends in social media and being well versed in using social media sights is my job, I’ve been spending time on Pinterest lately (that’s my story and I’m sticking to it). What my time on Pinterest has taught me is, well, there are so many delectable foods in the world AND people love to share inspirational sayings. Some are cute. Some are insightful. Others are The rest of the story

On a Scale of 1-10, What is your Pain Level?

2012/02/08 Gayle 0

No one knows how you feel unless you tell them. Unfortunately, I have spent far too much time in and around Doctor’s offices and hospitals in the past couple of months. One of the first questions you’re asked is always about how you feel. They have even developed a cute chart of faces to help you describe your pain. Why do they ask you? Because they can’t know how you feel without input from you! The same is true when it comes to emotional pain. Friends, co-workers and family can not know how you feel unless you tell them. We are all guilty. It happened to me last week. A comment was made in a public forum. I believed it was directed at me, and The rest of the story
