Disney Marathon 2014 Gayle & Jenn’s Quest part 3 on Amtrak

One of the parts of our trip we were most excited about was riding the train. The adventure of going on the train and riding to our destination felt romantic and unusual. It did not disappoint! I loved the sound of the train whistle all night as we crossed each intersection. I completely enjoyed the rocking of the train. The seats are large (as compared to airplane seats), they recline, and they even have a cool foot rest… we didn’t discover until our ride was almost over. We ate breakfast in the dining car. We stopped in Cary for supper at Woody’s Sports Bar. The boneless wings were acceptable. The service was decent. The realization we had left Mr Beau Vine in my coat pocket at home…devastating! Of course, I shared this need on Facebook and Twitter. My buddy called and offered to overnight Beau. People on Facebook offered to help. But I think Beau will just sit out this race (I had concerns about losing him anyway). So now the arduous task of finding a ‘stunt double ‘ for Beau before race day begins. I’m writing from the train. So far the ride has been fun. Although, I may have greatly overestimated how well my (almost) 51 year old body would sleep sitting on the train. Complaints about their neighbors, their co-workers, or unknown callers, professors and teachers, spouses and children…it was a smorgasbord of complaints. I wondered if these people are really this unhappy.  Or is it just convenient to take to social media to complain?
