We know that holding on to past anger and resentment eats away at out own happiness. Yet, we still battle with letting it go. Why is it so easy to hold a grudge? When you’re hurt by someone you love and trust, you might become angry, sad or confused. If you dwell on hurtful events or situations, grudges filled with resentment, vengeance and hostility can take root. What are the benefits to you for forgiving someone? It seemed appropriate to begin my post with a quote and this particular quote fit perfectly with my message. There are always obstacles to success. Some obstacles are obvious; the friends who tempt you with cake while your dieting or monetary difficulties in purchasing equipment. However, some obstacles are unseen and therefore we are oft blindsided when they appear. Two months ago I was blindsided by an obstacle. Calling someone or something the Egg McMuffin of _________ is silly! I am absolutely at a loss of words for what it can mean to be the Egg McMuffin of ____________.   I am worried about anyone or thing that might consider it a compliment. Hey, you’re the quick, cheap, breakfast I can pick up on the fly without thought; Sounds like I’m calling you a slut and well, that is NOTa compliment! However, from a marketing perspective, I guess McDonalds got what it wanted. I am writing about it and posting their video. I have seen several tweets on the topic and assume it is only a matter of time before some facebook friend mentions it. But is recognition really what McDonalds wants or needs? I celebrated a birthday last week.  Since I am still recovering from surgery the celebrations were far less than the blog title might lead you to believe. I did take a trip (5 minute drive) to see the ocean. I hope you’ll enjoy seeing my photographic record of the event as much as I did shooting them. We were at Fort Fisher and I became enamored with this fence.

Businesses are built on Networking and networking is what Social Media is all about. Connecting with other business partners, as well as keeping in touch with and interacting with your customer base. Here in Wilmington NC we have events called Tweetups where people who regularly interact on Twitter can meet IRL (In Real Life). The next Cape Fear Area Tweetup will be January 27th in The Beam Room at Front Street Brewery from 5:00pm until 6:30pm.
