Social Media – You get out of it what You put into it

If you are a regular reader, or even just taken a casual glance at my blog, you know I rarely write about business. Not because I am not interested or because I don’t think about it or even because I have nothing to say. I rarely write about business because, well, it is just not as much fun. I would much rather write about how to be happy, or living positive, or even my adventures and photographs. However, there are occasions when I feel the need to share. This is one of those times. Last night I was invited to be a part of a panel discussion. The topic was tips to help small businesses succeed. The first speaker ran long so in order to The rest of the story

Happy First day of Spring – Go Pursue Happiness

Happiness is an interesting concept. It is something we all desire and yet it is a state of mind that few can completely articulate. What is happiness? I learned as a child that I was entitled to the right to pursue happiness. Like many American children, I believed that meant I was entitled to happiness. I could ramble on and on about the ills of our societal belief that we are entitled to be happy, but I won’t, perhaps I’ll rant about that later. What I am coming to accept is that happiness comes in the pursuit. We must actively seek happiness. Happiness doesn’t just come and find you. It’s Life not a Math Problem (or is it)

(Just for the record, thank to the encouragement of the next year’s teacher THIS ‘too stupid’ kid took and passed several advanced math The rest of the story

It’s a Clear Morning

Today we are painting at my house. There are three rooms that have not been painted in the time we have lived here and it is time for the ugly colors to go! Rest assured this is not a DIY blog, so stay with me. We went on Thursday night to acquire paint samples. We came home with three. Two we really liked and one that – well, another one. The two we liked were taped to the wall in the room to be painted. We stared and stared at the samples trying to determine which should adorn the room. We agreed on and answer. Then morning came and we again looked at the samples on the wall. THEY LOOKED COMPLETELY DIFFERENT! Sure it was The rest of the story

Stop the Insanity

Do you ever go through those times when you feel as if the whole universe is against you? Me too! In August 2010 I wrote five tips for what to do when everyone’s against you. Today I went back to read the tips hopeful to glean some insight and inspiration. :\ So, I feel as if I have walked into the weekend from hell! It started Friday morning, continued to Friday afternoon and evening. So naturally, I thought things come in threes – Morning, Afternoon and Night – I’m done, let the good times begin! But regrettably the universe isn’t finished with me and as I sit here on Sunday night pontificating, the fun is still happening (seriously my dog is spewing from both ends The rest of the story
