Mind Reading 101

2011/07/29 Gayle 1

By now in our journey together I hope you are working toward a goal (or two). Chances are, somewhere along the way you have needed to enlist the assistance of another human in reaching your goal; perhaps a family member, or a co-worker, a friend or casual acquaintance.  Regardless of who that other person is, you must communicate your needs to them. As much as we wish they were, at time, other people are not mind readers. The ONLY way they know what we need from them, is if we tell them. When we wish to transmit a message and it is not interpreted in the way we wish, it is easy to blame the recipient for not understanding. Consider this … really really think The rest of the story

Well, isn’t that NICE!

2011/07/28 Gayle 0

We all want people to like us and we are willing to give of ourselves to accomplish this feat. You play nice at the office. You play nice with your spouse. You stuff your wants, needs, desires down while being nice to those around you. Nice is stifling! There’s a huge price to pay for parading through your life wearing the cloak of Nice. 1. DRAINED ENERGY RESERVES. It takes a lot of effort to put on the show.  It’s tiring to remember all those little white ‘save your feeling’ lies. Coming up with fibs all the time to make sure you say things to try to keep everyone else happy is hard work. Feels Like We’re Living in Star Trek

While attending a meeting a few days ago, someone mentioned a video of a 3D printer that was making the rounds. Additionally, the cost of 3D printers has declined.[2] The technology also finds use in the jewelry, footwear, industrial design, architecture, engineering and construction (AEC), automotive, aerospace, dental and medical industries, education, GIS, civil engineers, etc.’ According to my limited research, The rest of the story

Sometimes I feel like my phone has become more than a tool. It has become an obsession. I play with it constantly! Checking email, Facebook and twitter, playing games (including online with friends) or just surfing the web! Occasional my significant other will say ‘can I see your face and not the top of your head, please’. What are you missing in life because of a smartphone? Here are 19 Tips on keeping your phone in check (I borrowed them from Time Management Ninja) 14 of TMN’s 19 Phone Rules Call Me if Something is Important – When something is important, by all means call me. Study offers clues to emotional eating

2011/07/26 Gayle 0

I wouldn’t say that I am an emotional eater…unless you consider how grumpy I get when there is nothing sweet in the house! This study may indeed offer some insights to why we take such solace in junk foods. (Health.com) — Anyone who’s sought solace in pizza or a pint of ice cream knows that food can be comforting. But experts still don’t know exactly why we gravitate toward fatty or sugary foods when we’re feeling down, or how those foods affect our emotions. Taste and the pleasant memories associated with junk foods surely play a role, but that may be only part of the story. According to a small new study, hormones in our stomachs appear to communicate directly with our brains, independent of any feelings The rest of the story
