BUT, WE HAD A PLAN

2012/03/23 Gayle 0

I love a plan! I enjoy the process of making a plan. There is just a special joy about deciding a course of action to deal with a specific problem. Left to my own devices, I usually stick with the plan. As a matter of fact, I often find myself in the position of wondering why something did not happen….and my response is ‘BUT, WE HAD A PLAN’. The reality is that having a plan and implementing a plan live at opposite ends of the spectrum. So here are steps to help you accomplish what you are planning: 1 – Make your plan realistic. When making a plan it is tempting to want to see everything in a Pollyanna, pie in the sky way; DON’T The rest of the story

JUMP

I love the movie Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. In the movie, there is a scene where Butch Cassidy (Paul Newman) and The Kid (Robert Redford) are being pursued by a small but skillful posse. At first we see Butch and the Kid try to out run those in pursuit. Then they try trickery and hiding among the mountains. Eventually our heroes come to a point where the only choices are be captured or jump off the mountain into a raging river. At times responsibilities and pursuing goals can feel this way. What I am coming to accept is that happiness comes in the pursuit. We must actively seek happiness. Happiness doesn’t just come and find you. For the past several months I have been guilty of demanding to be happy. And, to The rest of the story

Plenty of Socks at Lo Tide

2012/03/18 Gayle 0

We have arrived at the time of year when festival and events permeate my life. Last week Jenn announced that we have no free Saturdays until October.  Part of me is excited to be back to the grind and part of me is already longing for a Saturday free from work! Yesterday we attended, as vendors, the Lo Tide Run in Carolina Beach.  This was the 8th annual Lo Tide Run whose goal is to raise money to assist local cancer victims in financial need in memory of Steve Haydu of Carolina Beach who died from cancer at a young age. This year there were 1950 runners pre-registered for the race and undoubtly over 2000 who ran (some registered the day of the race). I had The rest of the story

Let’s encourage each other!

I am pretty sure any glimmer of light I may see in the tunnel is just an on coming train!

What I want to do is curl into a fetal position and eat Oreos and wait for the last straw.
