My Dog ate a Sock and All I got was a Vet Bill

For years I have heard of people whose dog ate weird things. Some of them ate those things over and over. I judged those people. I thought – HOW could that happen? Can you not pick up? Should you even have a dog? BAD PARENTS (shaking finger) Bad Bad parents! And then, it happened to me! I have no doubt people are thinking – HOW could that happen? Can you not pick up? Should you even have a dog? BAD PARENTS (shaking finger) Bad Bad parents! I am there with you! The first time Marshall ‘ate something’ and it turned out to be a sock, we decided Diane at DogTrain might be right and he needed to be crated except when we were ‘eyes on The rest of the story

You are NOT the Energizer Bunny

I read a blog post a few days ago that was extolling the virtues of taking time off! The concept is not news to me, just as I am sure it’s not news to you. Yesterday began as any other Saturday for me. The alarm sounded before 6am. I avoided getting out of bed. Then rushed to leave the house and to arrive at and be set up for the Carolina Beach Farmers Market before eight o’clock. At the conclusion of market we broke down, had lunch with friends, unloaded the truck then headed to the couch and relaxation. On an ordinary Saturday my day would have ended there….on the couch! I often think about, and occasionally will even voice, my lamentations over the life I used to have (full of fun as I recall) and the life I want to have (full of fun) and the life I am living (napping on the couch). Yesterday, I broke with the The rest of the story

Social Media – You get out of it what You put into it

If you are a regular reader, or even just taken a casual glance at my blog, you know I rarely write about business. Not because I am not interested or because I don’t think about it or even because I have nothing to say. I rarely write about business because, well, it is just not as much fun. I would much rather write about how to be happy, or living positive, or even my adventures and photographs. However, there are occasions when I feel the need to share. This is one of those times. Last night I was invited to be a part of a panel discussion. The topic was tips to help small businesses succeed. The first speaker ran long so in order to The rest of the story
