In less than 2 weeks I am going to do something I never thought I’d do…..turn 50! If you’ve already been there and done that….then you know! If you haven’t yet been there and done that….then YOU know! 50 IS OLD!!!!!!! I wanted to walk a marathon to commemorate my 50th birthday. But by the time I got my act together the Disney marathon was full. So, I decided to do my own self supported marathon….but, well to be honest never got all that excited about spending my entire birthday walking in potentially cold weather! In the end – I didn’t train. There is a big part of me that feels like a real failure. I set a goal – walk a marathon on or The rest of the story

I won’t Eat Fruit (no matter how many resolutions I make)

No details are necessary, except that the name of Sandy Hook Elementary School will forever hold a special meaning for our nation.  We began a nationwide lament…in the wake of extreme and unfathomable tragedy…we collectively have called out, My God My God why have you forsaken us. I must admit, I too have wondered; The rest of the story

Armchair Theology

This post is a deviation from my usual musings. However, if you stick with me, I think it will become clear. The political season is behind us (sort of…well, as much as it is ever behind us). This particular election cycle caused me to enter into deep contemplation. Not about politics (which might have been your first guess) but about spirituality, religion, and faith. I saw and heard some of the meanest and nastiest comments from people who wear their ‘Christianity’ on their sleeve (which is to say they’re always proclaiming their Christianity). I have witnesses the most un-Christlike behavior from those who would claim that they bear witness to God’s love. If you know me…and quite possibly even if you don’t….you know that I The rest of the story
