Me, Wrigley and Marshall

30 DAYS OF THANKFUL – DAY EIGHT: Dogs

I am a dog person. I always have been. I haven’t been without a dog in my life since 1968.

These days I share my life with two canine companions, Wrigley and Marshall.

Someday I would like to write a book, Things I learned from my dog. Here’s a very short list of things I have learned from my dogs (past and present).

1. Unconditional Love – dogs love no matter what. Even an abused dog will still love its master.

2.  Responsibility – being the sole caregiver for another living being teaches responsibility (even though I am no longer a sole caregiver the lesson is still there).

3. Forgiveness – I’ve never had a dog that carried a grudge.

4. Living in the Moment – Dogs are great at living in the moment. They have no interest in what happened yesterday nor what will happen tomorrow. They live today while it is happening.

Today I am thankful for my dogs (both past and present) for the life lessons they have taught me and for so many more reasons!
