Crèche Journey Day 25

It’s Christmas Day and I’m up waaay too late, so you may get two nativities today. This one is made of steel by a local artist and it adorns our door, the one we use. I believe mine is unique, he sells them with a cross in the top, but I requested he make mine with a star. This nativity is perfect for Christmas Day, the day we celebrate Jesus arrival on earth, because it reminds me that Jesus is always just waiting for us to open the door for him to enter our life. #Day25 #nativitycollector #crèchenerd

Today’s nativity is an empty gift box that sits among the gifts under our tree each year. This is a representational gift that serves as a reminder that the best gift of Christmas wasn’t purchased by a human and wrapped in colorful paper under the tree. Perhaps some may think it’s silly to have an empty box under the tree year after year… but that box reminds us that the best gift comes to us over and over and fills our void with love and light, fills us so full it spills out from us to all the world… Let this reminder come to you this Christmas Eve Morning, that whether you think you have purchased (are receiving) the perfect gift or not, the perfect The rest of the story

Today’s nativity was created for me by my friend Terri. Check out her biz Speshell Creations I love the simplicity of this nativity! It reminds me of in the 19th chapter of Luke when Jesus says “If they kept quiet, the stones would do it for them, shouting praise.” As we draw to the end of Advent and the beginning of Christmas (remember it starts Dec 25th) may we be full of praise, for God, and goodwill for ALL creation (including each other). #Day23 #nativitycollector #crèchenerd

Today’s nativity comes from Sierra Leone. When I was in Rotifunk, I saw many such huts often central to villages and used for cooking. An internet search says that these huts are called Palaver Huts (in remote Liberia and Sierra Leone) and are often used for anything that needed arbitration – quarrels, disputes, misunderstandings and negotiations. Which reminds me that Jesus, the prince of peace, came to be a balm and bring peace. It’s sad so many claiming to be followers are the instruments of division. Let there be peace, y’all! #Day22 #nativitycollector #crèchenerd

Today’s nativity was given to me by my sister from her trip to Alaska. I love the uniqueness of it, and who doesn’t love bears? It’s a reminder of our connection to all creation…the representation of peace on earth good will to ALL (IMO an inclusive all that includes all God created). And of course, that all includes our family of origin as well as our family of choice. #Day21 #nativitycollector #crèchenerd
