Disney Marathon 2014 Gayle & Jenn’s Quest part 3 on Amtrak

One of the parts of our trip we were most excited about was riding the train. The adventure of going on the train and riding to our destination felt romantic and unusual. It did not disappoint!

I loved the sound of the train whistle all night as we crossed each intersection. I completely enjoyed the rocking of the train. The seats are large (as compared to airplane seats), they recline, and they even have a cool foot rest… we didn’t discover until our ride was almost over.

We ate breakfast in the dining car. It was a bit of a splurge… but the food was decent and the experience was awesome.

Things I would do different – bring one of those neck pillow (or some small pillow) and a thin blanket. I would also consider ear plugs (or headphones, the ear buds weren’t enough to drown out snoring).

All in all, the train was a great experience. I’d do it again (which Jenn points out is convenient since that’s how we get home).
