Expect the Best

Expect the best but anticipate the worst. You may have heard this expression. It was (and still is) my mother’s great advice. Unfortunately, by planning for the worst, you are short changing your potential. I am not suggesting that you run out tomorrow and spend your life savings. Nor am I suggesting that you fail to act responsibly. What I am saying is that by anticipating the worst, you are creating a conflict in your brain. Abraham Lincoln said a house divided against itself cannot stand. The same is true for your brain. Your brain can not remain positive while contemplating the worst. You cannot remain focused on reaching your goals if all you see are the obstacles. Expect the best. Focus on your goal. The rest of the story

Productive Imagination

Once we have reached adulthood, frequently we put aside the imagination skills we learned as children. We join the work force of life and we stop imagining. Daydreaming is considered a complete waste of time and effort and daydreaming is associated with being non-productivity.
