Title IX turns 40 this year. It should come as no surprise that I remember June 23, 1972,  the day it became law. I stood earnestly before the console TV and watched the news story. Girls playing sports! Naturally, my precocious nine year old self was anxious to be a benefactor of this new legislation. Sadly, I was in college before I played any organized sports. My parental unit was of the ‘don’t rock the boat’ generation and change doesn’t come quickly in small town America. However, I was desperate to play little league baseball.  After College I coached little league softball. It was my way of being able to do what I had wanted since I was nine and the man on the news The rest of the story

We must Accept finite disappointment, but Never lose infinite HOPE

All progress is precarious, and the solution of one problem brings us face to face with another problem. ~~ Martin Luther King, Jr. Today we celebrate Martin Luther King Day. It seemed appropriate to begin my post with a quote and this particular quote fit perfectly with my message. There are always obstacles to success. Some obstacles are obvious; the friends who tempt you with cake while your dieting or monetary difficulties in purchasing equipment. Can you Catch your Dream?

2011/03/22 Gayle 0

Dream Catcher Lore: Native Americans believe that the night air is filled with dreams both good and bad. The dream catcher when hung over or near your bed swinging freely in the air, catches the dreams as they flow by. (per http://www.dream-catchers.org/) In your waking moments you catch your dream by chasing after it. Dreams never come true just by dreaming them. You must begin following your The rest of the story

Sometimes it seems the whole world is against us. We set out for greatness. We know what we want but then there is ‘that person’. That one person who speaks up to trample dreams, hopes or goals. Ever wonder why they take such delight in being the voice of despair? Changes are they had a dream that was crushed or maybe they have just given up on their goals. Will you let their defeat cost you your dream? Take a vow right now to be a dream builder and not a dream crusher. Decide that you are taking the initiative it may be a position that singles you out for praise or for criticism. Maybe the world around you will scoff at your dream or The rest of the story
