Sharing is what it is ALL about

Part of the way I feed, clothe and have the ability to live indoors, is the use of social media. In case you are reading this and want to ask the question my mother asked last week ‘SOCIAL MEDIA, what’s that?’ The answer is social media is any avenue that acts socially using online technology. Because keeping up with the trends in social media and being well versed in using social media sights is my job, I’ve been spending time on Pinterest lately (that’s my story and I’m sticking to it). What my time on Pinterest has taught me is, well, there are so many delectable foods in the world AND people love to share inspirational sayings. Some are cute. Some are insightful. Life in a Super Bowl Party

2012/02/06 Gayle 0

Yesterday was Super Bowl Sunday – A sacred day in our culture. In our house we love football. We devote most Sunday’s to cheering our teams. Several years ago Jenn and I started hosting a Soup(er) Bowl party, as the name implies we make soup and have a party. It is great fun and we enjoy the experience, except when our team(s) are actually playing. At those times the social interaction of the party eliminates seeing the game. Every so often the words of others become so burdensome in our lives that we can hardly move forward. The words! We hear the words of our friends as they comment on our latest adventure. The words! We hear parental words telling us no one will every like ‘that attitude’. The words! We hear teachers from the 70’s still telling us we’ll never succeed at math. The words! Words we repeat over and over in our minds. The words! Eventually the words become so taxing we are unable to hear our own voice. We can no longer hear our own thoughts. We can no longer drown out the words! The words of others! Are you letting other people’s words take over your thoughts? Are you The rest of the story

2012/01/19 Gayle 0

Human progress is neither automatic nor inevitable. Moving forward is often the most difficult thing we will accomplish in our lives. The path from where we are to where we want to go can seem daunting. The fear of success and the intimidation of failure can cause us to never take a step outside our comfort zone. What dream are you dreaming that causes you to lay awake at night yearning? Why are you not moving toward that dream in the light of day? Today is THE only day you need to get started. Small steps or giant leaps – either will get you that much closer to where your heart desires you to go. Just take a leap of faith and begin!
