Step Back into History

2012/01/22 Gayle 0

There are very few years when I miss going to the annual remembrance of the Second Battle of Fort Fisher, the largest land-sea battle of the War Between the States. I absolutely LOVE to watch and hear the big cannons boom! As stated, I love the cannons and in years past my camera has found nothing else at this event. This year, I took the time to notice the setting for the event. I hope you enjoy this setting as much as I did yesterday. Although I walked all over the grounds yesterday (a feat I paid for last night and today – it seems walking on uneven ground requires abdominal / core muscles. and even though I think I am healed from surgery my The rest of the story

Dont You Dare Give Up

Some days it seems as if everything in the world is going against you. A salmon swimming up stream has an easier time reaching her goal than you’re having reaching yours. I wish I had wonderful and expert advice to help you through those days. I wish there was a magic pill I could offer you that would make it all easier and better. I don’t. What I can tell you is…. As hockey legend Wayne Gretzky once noted, you will always miss 100 percent of the shots you don’t take. You must continue, even on the worst of days, if you want to succeed. The there was a discussion with a trusted colleague about the important your Klout score was when it came to employability, and while I have no plans to find an employer anytime soon, I am concerned with people hiring me. Human Progress is Neither Automatic nor Inevitable

2012/01/19 Gayle 0

Human progress is neither automatic nor inevitable. Moving forward is often the most difficult thing we will accomplish in our lives. The path from where we are to where we want to go can seem daunting. The fear of success and the intimidation of failure can cause us to never take a step outside our comfort zone. What dream are you dreaming that causes you to lay awake at night yearning? Why are you not moving toward that dream in the light of day? Today is THE only day you need to get started. Small steps or giant leaps – either will get you that much closer to where your heart desires you to go. Just take a leap of faith and begin!
