My love affair with Twitter (Happy 5th Birthday)

In July, 2008 while watching the Tour de France Stage 4 Time Trial, I was caught by surprise to hear J. Vaughters drop the F-Bomb. The following day Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwin mentioned that Jonathan Vaughters apologized via twitter. I immediately had to have a twitter account. Here is the tweet I discovered “TeamSlipstream Ooops… I just dropped the F-Bomb on Versus, live. Sorry to all the parents out there. It was just really intense today… JV” Little did I know that I was beginning a love affair that would open doors, create friends, and change my world. Twitter turns five today. Cold Feet

I am frequently asked by people how I know my blood sugar was a problem. The answer is that my feet bothered me. They always felt cold. Since Jenn and I both have diabetics in our family, we are aware that circulation problems can occur in diabecice and I began to keep a check on my blood suagr levels. I don’t know if you believe you can manifest things in your life; but I do. Here’s my most recent story…. Last night I was at an event where someone asked when / if we were getting a new dog. The answer was my standard answer which goes something like this ‘I have never found a dog, they all have found me… I am not actively looking but I am open to the right dog finding me.’ This morning, I opened my email to find a photo of a cute pup from Marshall, KY who needed to be rescued. Sugar-Free Oreo’s – I’m in LOVE!

Yesterday I was having a sugar attack; which is to say that I wanted some cake so bad I could hardly stand it! I didn’t feel well and I was lying on the couch at the end of the day complaining that I wanted cake. Chocolate cake! Jenn had to go to the store and she asked if there was anything that would make me feel better and I answered ‘a bag of Oreo’s – I want to eat the WHOLE bag!’ As she left I amended my answer to say, ‘if you happen to see something sugar-free that might suffice, get it.’ We may have made the best discovery in the quest to be sugar-free!
