Like it or not, goal setting is a central and essential aspect of life. For some of us, this is a mindful process, however many others are unaware of the goal setting act and therefore have very little direction or purpose. You may be surprised to learn that you are setting goals on a daily basis. Some are relatively small and seemingly insignificant such as deciding what you will eat for lunch, while others are more important and relevant to your potential accomplishments. So today let’s talk about setting SMART goals in life; mostly the big GOALS, but also some of the small goals. A SMART goal refers to a method of goal setting and not just intelligent goals. It is a five step method The rest of the story

You are Never a Failure until You Stop Trying

It is hard for me to accept when something doesn’t work. I have an idea and I try to go from idea to reality and it doesn’t work! Soon I am feeling like a failure. It is easy to take a lack of success and label it as failure; when the reality isn’t failure but lack of success. Perhaps you have heard how Thomas Edison unsuccessfully tried over 6ooo times to create a light bulb. On one occasion a young journalist challenged Edison saying to him, “Mr. Edison, why do you keep trying to make light by using electricity when you have failed so many times? Don’t you know that gas lights are with us to stay?” To this Edison replied, “Young man, don’t you realize that I have not failed but have successfully discovered six thousand The rest of the story

Prepare to meet your Goal

2011/08/02 Gayle 1

Last night as I was falling asleep, I thought of the perfect blog post for today. As I drifted to unconsciousness, my mind put together words and phrases to express wonderful and uplifting thoughts. This morning those thoughts are gone, along with the concept! I know that I should keep a pen and paper by my bed; I know I should always be prepared to write my thoughts. The question of the day is – are you prepared? My goal is to write this blog! I try to be alert every day of ideas, concepts, and inspiration for this blog. I have learned to use the recorder on my phone because often the inspiration hits me as I am driving and unable to write. Are The rest of the story

Well, isn’t that NICE!

2011/07/28 Gayle 0

We all want people to like us and we are willing to give of ourselves to accomplish this feat. You play nice at the office. You play nice with your spouse. You stuff your wants, needs, desires down while being nice to those around you. Nice is stifling! There’s a huge price to pay for parading through your life wearing the cloak of Nice. 1. DRAINED ENERGY RESERVES. It takes a lot of effort to put on the show.  It’s tiring to remember all those little white ‘save your feeling’ lies. Coming up with fibs all the time to make sure you say things to try to keep everyone else happy is hard work. Eventually you will suffer from tiredness that can escalate to exhaustion, The rest of the story
